How to maintain vacuum pump

Vacuum pump maintenance directly affects the working stability of the pump and even the service life of the vacuum pump. 

There are many ways to maintain the vacuum pump

1. Check whether the pump pipe and the joint are loose. Turn the vacuum pump by hand to see if the pump is flexible.

2. Add bearing lubricating oil to the bearing body, observe the oil level should be at the center line of the oil mark, and the lubricating oil should be replaced or supplemented in time.

3. Unscrew the water diversion screw plug of the pump body and fill the water diversion or slurry. 

4. Turn off/Close the gate valve of the outlet pipe, the outlet pressure gauge and the inlet vacuum gauge.

5. Start the motor, and check whether the motor is turning correctly.

6. Start the motor, when the vacuum pump is in normal operation, open the outlet pressure gauge and the inlet vacuum pump, and gradually open the gate valve when the appropriate pressure is displayed, and check the motor load.

7. Try to control the flow and head of the pump within the range indicated on the label, to ensure that the vacuum pump runs at the highest efficiency point, in order to obtain the largest energy saving effect.

8. During the operation of the pump, the bearing temperature shall not exceed the ambient temperature of 35℃, and the highest temperature shall not exceed 80℃.

9. If abnormal sound of vacuum pump is found, stop immediately and check the reason.

10. When the pump is to be stopped, close the gate valve and pressure gauge first, and then stop the motor.

11. The lubricating oil of the pump shall be changed after 100 hours in the first month of operation, and the oil shall be changed once every 500 hours thereafter.

12. Regularly adjust the packing gland to ensure that the dripping in the packing room is normal. 

13. Check the wearing of the bushing regularly, and replace it in time.

14. When vacuum pump is used in the cold winter season, after stopping the pump, it is necessary to unscrew the lower drain screw of the pump body to remove the medium to prevent freezing and cracking.

15. If the vacuum pump is out of service for a long time, it is necessary to disassemble the pump completely, wipe off the moisture, fill the rotating part and the joint with grease, and keep it properly.
